First Season sires – Pride of Dubai

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday January 1
The Magic Millions first season sire focus on New Year's Day falls on a dual Group I winning son of Street Cry (IRE) from one of the world's best modern stallion making families.

Pride of DubaiHe is of course's Coolmore's Pride of Dubai, a horse that was foaled and raised at Coolmore for his owner breeder Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum and found immediate fame on the racetrack winning the Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes and ATC Sires Produce Stakes at two.

Street Cry needs no introduction as the sire of the best turf racehorse in the world in Winx and while his overall resume might be headlined by the freakish one, it is is by no means defined by her. The sire of 126 stakes-winners worldwide, with champions in two hemispheres, Street Cry is indisputably an outstanding sire.

For those who believe stallions need depth in their maternal line, Pride of Dubai lights up like a Christmas tree. His stakes-placed Danehill dam Al Anood has produced three stakes-winners from her four winners and is a half-sister to remarkable producer Rafha.

A Group I winner of the Chantilly Prix de Diane, Rafha is the dam of two of Europe's best stallions Invincible Spirit and Kodiac, so it's no wonder Pride of Dubai has been popular for Coolmore in Ireland.
