Mark Smith - Saturday September 3

Ridden by Brenton Avdulla for Ciaron Maher and David Eustace, Cadre Du Noir (USA) revelled in the heavy going.

Cadre Du Noir (USA) led at every call and had the race in his keeping by the time he rounded the home turn.

The expensive son of War Front (USA) defeated Arapaho (FR) (Lope de Vega) by five and a half lengths, with Realm Of Flowers (So You Think) a further one and a half lengths back in third.

A $1.1million Keeneland September Yearling Cadre Du Noir advances his record to four wins, three seconds, and two-thirds from 15 starts with earnings of $274,665.

Bred by SF Bloodstock and partners, the 7yo gelding is a half-brother to the Santa Anita Grade II Royal Heroine Stakes heroine Parranda (English Channel), who placed in three times at the highest level.

His dam, Dynamic Feature (Rahy) is a half-sister to GrIII winner Sisterly Love (Bellamy Road) from the family of Dixie Brass and Odyle.

Cadre Du Noir (USA) is the 106th black-type winner for Claiborne Farm’s War Front (Danzig), which stood at a fee of US$100,000 in 2022.
